Day 6 - Flag pole rope holder

I have no idea what this is really called.  I know there's a name for it....
I had a bunch of other "better" pictures, but I kept coming back to this one because it makes me smile, lens flare and all.  This is exactly as it came out of the camera, except for being rotated 90 degrees.  I tried lots of edits, but never liked the results as well as the original.

  1. I love the very cool perspective and leading lines on this shot, with the Star 'n Stripes as the final destination. The shot is perhaps a little bright imo, but it does carry a feeling of pride about it.

btw - I think the fastener is called a 'cleat'

  2. Great find for your subject and very cool PoV. Like Craig, I also find the hot to be a bit over exposed.. blasted noon sun! LOL

  3. Love the perspective...wondering if a crop along the top would delete some of the hot spot but still convey the message

  4. I tried all kinds of things, but never liked the outcome, so I decided to leave it as-is. I have much better shots... and better subjects... but liked this faulty one best. :)

  5. yeah point of view is great. This would have been a stronger picture earlier in the morning or later at night i think. I think LM is onto something suggesting a crop that would take care of the worst brightness.
